Influencer Confronts Man After Finding Zoomed-In Photos of Her Buttocks on His Phone

A local influencer has alleged that a man secretly took photos of her buttocks during a pickleball session before confronting him on camera in a video that has since gone viral.

In an IG post on 19 July, influencer Kasey Low said the incident happened during her weekly pickleball game after a friend allegedly spotted a man hiding in a corner and taking photos of her.

She claimed the man initially denied doing so before she checked his phone and allegedly found multiple zoomed-in photos of her shorts and buttocks.

The video accompanying the post showed Low confronting the man, who repeatedly apologised and claimed he "did not do it on purpose", saying he had intended to film the overall game.

Low rejected his explanation, pointing out that the alleged photos were focused on her behind.

In her post, Low said she decided to speak up to encourage others not to stay silent about similar incidents.

She also stressed that her exercise attire was not the cause of the alleged harassment, saying women can still be harassed regardless of what they wear.

In a subsequent update, Low said she regretted not calling the police immediately. She explained that she deleted the alleged photos from the man's phone in the heat of the moment before considering making a report, and was later unsure whether she could still do so.

Under Section 377BB of the Penal Code, it is an offence to intentionally record another person's genital region, breasts (if female), or buttocks (whether exposed or covered) without their consent in circumstances where those body parts would not otherwise be visible, and where the offender knows or has reason to believe the person did not consent.

This provision was expanded in 2022 to explicitly include covered buttocks.
