Meta has launched paid subscription plans for its flagship platforms, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, as the tech giant moves to diversify beyond advertising revenue with prices starting from S$3.82 a month.

According to reports, Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus will cost S$5.09 (US$3.99) per month, while WhatsApp Plus will be priced at S$3.82 (US$2.99) monthly. The subscriptions will reportedly unlock additional features such as profile customisation, enhanced analytics, wider audience reach and premium stickers.

Meta’s head of product, Naomi Gleit, said the company also plans to roll out more subscription offerings for creators, businesses and AI products under a broader “Meta One” brand.

The move comes amid growing investor scrutiny over Meta’s massive AI spending, with the company reportedly projecting between US$125 billion and US$145 billion in capital expenditure this year, largely for AI-related infrastructure.
